Small Office

Description
The Nuova Simonelli Oscar II was created to give home espresso enthusiasts and professional baristas a low-cost but high-performance alternative.
The Nuova Simonelli Oscar 2 delivers quality you can taste.
You’ll get velvety espresso and fine microfoam from this user-friendly machine. The antimicrobial copper boiler is a natural heat conductor while the heat exchanger provides powerful steaming capability.
Enjoy Consistent Shots with the Oscar II
Unlike other semiautomatic espresso machines, the Oscar II comes with single and double dosage buttons you can set by time, allowing shops to increase efficiency and consistency between espresso shots.
Key Features and What They Mean
Programmable Timed Dosing Buttons
Program single and double espressos by time to help you control the conditions for continuously excellent espresso shots.
Soft Infusion System: This is an initial phase of brewing that promotes even extraction, nice crema, and enhanced flavor.
Push Pull Steam
This ergonomic steam trigger takes it easy on your wrists. Baristas making drinks all day won’t get worn out as easily by the steam trigger.
Reverse Mirror: Built into the back plate, the reverse mirror shows you all angles of the espresso as it pours from the group head. Check the quality of your espresso shots without even needing to bend down.
Copper Heat Exchange Boiler
Copper is an antimicrobial material and a natural heat conductor, increasing sanitation and allowing the boiler heat more efficiently. Thanks to the heat exchanger, you can brew and steam at the same time.
Extended Articulating Steam Arm
The steam arm rotates freely so that you can better position a milk pitcher. With the extended length, you can reach down deeper into the pitcher, distribute heat more evenly, and control the aeration for better microfoam.
Commercial Grade 58 mm Portafilter
This is the kind of heavy-duty portafilter used with commercial espresso machines, giving you a professional experience. Single and double baskets are included.
Cup Warmer
Store espresso cups right on top of the machine and they’ll be automatically preheated when it’s time to make a drink. Your lattes will stay warmer.
Features & Specifications
Standard Features
Available
T3 System - 3-4 copper boilers working together allowing the barista to independently set the temperature for each group head.
X
Volumetric Dosing - Allows the barista or operator to program the dosage. Often allowing for different dosages on different group heads. This means that the barista can start the brewing process knowing the machine will end it automatically at the pre programmed dosage.
X

Warranty/Water Info
All of our espresso machines come standard with our 2 year manufacturer warranty. We also sell additional dealer warranties which can be found above.
The installation of a water softener is mandatory for all users that don't meet the required water specifications, failure to do so will void your warranty. It is recommended to always add a water filter to your order if you do not have one already. Replacement time of filters depends on the water and quantity of drinks being made (see estimating calculator).
What is soft infusion on the Nuova Simonelli Oscar ii?
Soft infusion is Nuova Simonelli’s pre-infusion system. Pre-infusion is a pre-wetting of the coffee bed to reduce channeling and soak the entire coffee bed before the full pressure of water is released.
The result is better extraction of all the coffee particles, and thus a better, more well-rounded flavor.
The Nuova Simonelli Oscar II has a quick pre-infusion stage that is set by the company (not changeable as an individual feature). However, this makes using the feature simple for newer baristas and anyone who doesn’t have time to fiddle with machine settings.
What is the difference between timed dosing and volumetric dosing?
Ah, we’re glad you asked about this. First, let’s cover the basic difference between a semiautomatic and automatic model.
Here’s how these machines generally work. Whereas a semiautomatic’s dosing is controlled by the user (who starts and stops the brew cycle manually), an automatic machine ends the brew cycle on its own when the programmed espresso volume has been reached.
With a machine like the Oscar II, you have something in between these models because of the timed dosing. It’s ending the brew cycle for you like an automatic machine, but using time instead of volume as a reference point.
Though it works differently and may change your process a little (timed dosing may produce a shot that’s half the volume that you actually need unless you change your method), timed dosing offers the same opportunity to increase consistency and efficiency in a busy shop.
Why is seeing the espresso pouring in the reverse mirror a good thing?
If you’re a beginner barista, you may be just starting to familiarize yourself with all the visual cues of a quality espresso shot.
With the built-in mirror, you can watch for these visual cues while the shot is pouring. This can help you understand what’s going right or wrong in your process.
You’ll see how fast or slow the shot is pouring, watch for blonding, and monitor for signs of a good (or bad) shot in action as if you were bending down to take a closer look.
The better you can see, the more knowledgeable you’ll become about good espresso and the more confident you’ll be in your results.

We needed a commercial duty espresso machine for a small espresso bar in our chocolate shop. We looked at everything from shiny Prosumer models to super super duper automatics that are basically a virtual barista. We went with the Oscar II because it's got a solid track record for longevity, it's very affordable, the steaming wand running concurrent with pulling shots is invaluable, and while it's not got some bells and whistles that a true afficionado might want, it produces solid espresso that beats most of the coffee shops around here. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a workhorse on a budget. We upgraded it with a bottomless portafilter and 20g VST basket. There's a few little things you'll want to do in your workflow to get the best shots. Time your espresso from after the initial pump sound goes away when first pushing the button, and give it a quick flush after you're done and before pulling the next shot for just a second. PS. Majesty Coffee was excellent to deal with.

Great little machine for home use
We purchased this machine in 2019 for home use and it’s been great, we’ve had no problems with it, saves me from packing up my kids and driving into town to purchase coffee which I was doing 2x a day before. This machine is a life saver especially with covid ruining everything. I don’t know what I’d do w/o this machine looking back. My husband makes his 6shot espresso to take to work every am and I make two 6shot espressos a day then he makes another one or two 4 shot espressos when he get home from work. Perfect machine for our needs.

I just got my Lelit Bianca V3 and I love it. The people at Majesty Coffee were a delight to work with and they were very prompt. I would highly recommend them.
Yes, $3,000 is a lot of money. However, when you decide to enter this high level espresso machine category (DB, PID, flow control, excellent steam power, etc.), you will quickly find that the Lelit Bianca V3 is a bargain.
Moving up from a Gaggia Classic, I was concerned that I was over-buying and paying for a lot of features I would never use. Wrong! Initially, I left everything at factory settings and did not touch the flow control. A few weeks and tons of perfect shots later, I'm experimenting with shot profiles, Turbo shots... you name it.
I'm getting great shots and only wish I had saved the money from the earlier machines and gone straight to the Bianca. It's that good.
Downsides: None that I can see.
You will love this machine.
My experience with Majesty Coffee was highly personalized. I had 8-9 emails with them about different color combinations, changing my mind as we went. They were service oriented every step of the way. They were out of the Elizabeth, so they offered a Bianca v3 which has ended years of frustration trying to get excellent shots and silky milk. It is spoiling me to a degree that I won’t be able to get coffee from a cafe without thinking that I could do so much better at home.
If you want the most you can get from the bean in front of you... this is the grinder to get. Fast to setup and dial in. Extracts the full flavor of the bean every time. I like the ability to take it apart in seconds for cleaning and reassembly is as fast.
Grounds are not splattered all over your workplace. After 2 weeks I hit the grinder with a sponge and done in seconds too.
Replacement parts are on the website. I would be shocked if I ever needed them.
Great grinder for a great price. But this should be the last filter grinder you need.
I ordered equipment for a coffee shop from the guys. Nuova Simonelli coffee machine and Fiorenzato coffee grinder. Everything was delivered on time, we were in touch all the time. Thank you so much! I will continue to order equipment from Majesty Coffee.
My X54 arrived with the translucent silicone-like backflow preventer bent into the lower grinding wheel and particles of it came out into my grind… I called and talked with Tony at Majesty and he gave me the Malkonig direct number and they in turn mentioned what had happened while in shipment that had brought on this issue and has sent to me a factory fresh replacement that is quite easy to remedy and this prompt customer support from both the merchant and manufacturer have been spot on… I love this little grinder
I received this particular item (Malkonig X54) quite promptly from Majesty and it was very well packaged… I have used it for only four (4) times… a single cup per day after running approximately 15 grams of roasted whole beans through it on its initial use for a “clean-out run” and found the grind, once the adjusting wheel was set, to be very consistent in my selection for a French press cup: HOWEVER, on this, the fourth day, two (2) fairly large chunks of a silicone-like substance that was used downline from the grinding portion of this grinder came out of the spout of which the manufacturer must have used to seal the discharge channel and into the spout discharge they came…
I have minimally used this grinder for I only grind for one (1) cup per day… about 18 grams per time.
I am awaiting to see what options that may come to me from Majesty in remedying this particular machine’s defect… Otherwise, it’s a great home machine except for this one particular shortcut that Malkonig took to channel the grind from the grinding portion of the machine… and, hopefully, this is the only X54 that this has had this issue but….
Majesty coffee is a great distributor and the Baratza grinder is a great product and the sound of the machine is a little loud but overstated in other reviews.
I did extensive research on the Eureka Mignon Specialita Espresso Grinder, and I am very pleased to share that this grinder has exceeded my expectations for build quality, quietness and producing precise espresso grind for my home cafe.
